8-Week ESL Class at Carl Sandburg College Begins June 11

Carl Sandburg College’s Corporate & Leisure College is offering an eight-week English as a Second Language (ESL) course that begins June 11.

The class — Conversational English as a Second Language for Beginner Level — will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays from June 11-July 30 in the Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) on Sandburg’s Main Campus in Galesburg, 2051 Tom L. Wilson Blvd. The class costs $40, which includes study materials.

This course is for adults whose native language is not English. Students will be given instruction and practice in speaking, writing and reading in English. Topics will include social interactions, employment, health, banking, housing, schooling and other related topics to improve students’ confidence in daily activities. The instructor for the class is Randy Sollenberger.
